Darryl Yap defended the trailer of his upcoming movie about the late sexy actress Pepsi Paloma, which was the basis of the cyberlibel case filed against him by veteran TV host Vic Sotto.

Yap made an immediate reaction to Sotto’s complaint through his Facebook page on Thursday, Jan. 9.

In his post, Yap shared a screenshot from the trailer which shows Rhed Bustamante, portraying Paloma, answering “oo” (yes) to a question confirming if Sotto “raped” her.

“Kalayaan ng kahit sino ang magsampa ng reklamo. Walang may monopolyo sa katarungan, lalo na sa katotohanan. Malaya ang sinuman na magsampa ng reklamo, para mas maging malinaw ang totoo. Dahil sa huli, katotohanan lang ang depensa sa lahat ng katanungan,” Yap said.

Yap then claimed that Paloma filed a rape case against Sotto but that she later withdrew the complaint.

“Nagsinungaling ba ang teaser? Ang sagot ay wala sa litrato. Ito ay nasa maraming lathalain, ito ay nasa mga naburang bidyo, ito ay nasa mga lumang dyaryo. Alam nang mga nakakaalam noon, at alam na ng mga nagtatanong ngayon,” the director argued.

The benchmark PSEi fell by 1.50 percent, or 112.73 points, to close at 7,424.52 while the broader All-Shares index slipped by 1.08 percent, or 44.05 points, to settle at 4,033.36.

Speaking to reporters, ADB country director for the Philippines Pavit Ramachandran said the Manila-based multilateral lender was targeting to green-light the first round of financing under a multi-tranche loan to bankroll the Laguna Lakeshore Road Network project later this year.

“Delia, Pepsi— Babalik tayo sa Korte; ang Pilipino sa sinehan,” he concluded his post, referring to Paloma’s real name Delia Dueña Smith.

In a separate Facebook post, Yap also reposted photos of Sotto filing the case against him before the Muntinlupa prosecutor’s office.

“PEPSI GOES BACK TO COURT,” the director said in the caption.
